  TAPE TOP OR TAB TOP??
  Tape top

Some headings can be created using various types of tape that is sewn close to the top edge of the window treatment and, by pulling up gathering cords, different effects can be achieved.
Some heading tapes incorporate Velcro at the back so they can be used in conjunction with grip tape that makes it possible to attach top treatments and blinds to battens or pelmet boards. The number of cords and the way the cords are threaded in the heading tape makes the pattern of pleats.
The pleats are sharpest when the cords are drawn up tightly.
There can be 2, 3, or 4 cords for drawing up the pleats.
Most tapes have more than 1 row of pockets for the hooks to adjust the height of the heading.

Tape top or Tab top ??????

An extremely cost effective solution as this heading requires less fabric than gathered or pleated curtains. Not suitable for long, heavier weight curtains as tabs don't glide easily along the pole.

A decorative pole works best with this heading.

Pencil pleat

Classic, simple and the slightly more elegant alternative to a gathered heading. Pencil pleat is probably the best known and most widely used heading for curtains. The deep, crisp pleats are drawn up tightly to an even, neat form. Traditional pencil pleat tape has 2 rows of pockets, either of which can be used to suspend your curtain hooks. This means that you can use any type of curtain track depending upon whether you wish to hide the tracking system or not. Pencil pleat is a safe choice. It always look right, whether your furnishings are traditional, contemporary or casual. A decorative pole works best with this heading.

Pinch pleat

Pinch pleat is a decorative heading for curtains, suitable for all fabrics. Pinch pleats are more gathered than pencil pleats and have permanent sewn-in pleats for a more luxurious, tailored look.
A decorative pole works best with this heading.

Goblet pleat

Goblet pleats make a very elegant heading for longer lengths. Pleats fall from each goblet that can be stuffed with tissue paper or cotton wool to retain their shape.
It has a rich, formal appearance and looks wonderful with woven fabrics or jacquards. Coupled with luxurious roped tiebacks pulling curtains back from your window, the overall appearance is timeless. For a true luxury look let your curtain hems drape along the floor either side of the window by about 15cm.
A decorative pole works best with this heading.

Eyelets

Modern, unfussy and extremely neat. With their regular even pleats, this heading requires the least amount of space either side of the window to stack back.
